I am looking to buy a mark III head with simul class and preferably with the rythem 2 mod already done but thats not manditory. Red,blue or green stripes would be ideal.
Thanks

A guy on my local Craigslist (Washington, D.C.) is selling one... description is as follows:

"I will also have a mark III green stripe head (simul class, EQ, 100/60 watts) for sale pretty soon, but it is having excessive hum problems that are not tube related, so I have to take it into the shop and get it worked on. If anyone would be interested in this, you can let me know now and I will keep you in mind when I get it fixed. I wouldn't want to sell it to someone without getting this fixed"

Here is his email if you're interested: [email protected]

I'm from the metro area, and the added hum makes that mkIII so tempting  I wonder what he's asking?

how come it is so hard to find these heads? i am Still looking

I have a rack mount Mark3 for sale here in the classifieds. It's a blue stripe with simulclass power section, graphic EQ ,R2 volume mod and Mark3C+ mod performed by Mike B. Works perfectly and is pretty clean cosmetically. Price is $1250.00 plus shipping if interested.

i've got a purple stripe with the mod done. looking for 800 shipped to the 48 states

hmmmm, i've seen that. i can assure you though that the differnece in gain is very slight and probably hardly noticeable. my purple has plenty of gain for death metal and the reason i'm selling it is that it's too saturated. ask anyone else on this forum about the purple's gain.

u can, but if u do that u really hurt the other 2 channels. it's really loose and open compared to the lead which is tighter and compressed

oh thats what u mean. well the link u sent me didn't work but i'm pretty sure your not gonna get high gain out of any r2 even on a mark IV without a boost.

i don't have any clips but if you're looking for a true 3 channel amp a mark 3 probably isn't for u. i find r2 better for leads than for rhythms becase of the lack of compression. u can also use the eq button on the footswitch to make the lead into 2 channels. scooped for rhythm then turn the eq off and you'll get a middier and louder lead tone.
