Ever think about buying a brand new Blackstar HT-5 head for about $400? Great for recording. I bet it would compliment the Roadster very well.

If you are opposed, go with a used Mark series.

I think the Engl's and the VHT's would sound a little too similiar (when recorded) to the Roadster to justify $1000... or more.

I've played one, it didn't really do much for me.

I have been offered a mark V for my axe fx that I am still thinking about, but I kind of want something other than mesa and not 6L6 based

too similar? engl maybe, but VHT? that is a compleeeeeeetely different voicing!!! haha - I guess that's subjective but I don't see much similarities between a sig x and a roadster

I might grab a peters dual hydra though...I think that would be the most original/unique combination with the roadster!
