I just ordered another JP2C Limited Edition and starting thinking about it and wondered if now that there is a 2C+ reissue, will they kill the JP2C? I hope not as I think it’s the best version personally. I was curious what you guys all think? Does Gibson care about continuing with artist? Or did they reissue the other so they could can the signature model and save some money.

I bet they'll keep the JP2C, it really is way different than the reissue. Gibson itself has several signature guitars, no reason it'll be different with Mesa

I would wager sales will tell. Sure they are going to sell a lot of the IIC+ reissues at the beginning, but I honestly think that will taper off, as for most people who play live the JP-2C is a far better option.

I predict a JP2C Version 2 in the near future!!
I already have the Version 2. Actually, it is the mark VII with the JP2C face plate I bought to match the cabinet.

Here is the same faceplate that was on the real JP2C. Since I ordered the cream/black jute faceplate, it came with all of the badges. I still have the stock black one so that is what is on the JP2C now.

I only have one JP2C but I do have two Mark VII. The first Mark VII was all back. The second one has the cream/black jute faceplate so I wanted the pair to match. So after transplanting the original faceplate back to the JP2C, here it is now.

That is so I can eliminate any OCD issues. I know the jute cloth is different lots as you can tell in the image. At least the face plates match the grill cloth. Now I have a matching set. One has the JP2C signature badge. That was the first Mark VII I bought. The one without was the second.

I have two JP2C’s, two VII’s and a C+ reissue. So far I like the RI way more than the JP2C’s!! Have only compared closely to the JP’s and my OG MKIIC+ HRG! HRG wins that battle!!

If Mesa can make a JP2C that sounds like the RI!!! SCORE!!!

We can only hope!!!

IMHO the RI is way closer to the OG than the JP’s!!
