Which tubes in Mark IV???

I just recently got my Mark IV and was wondering: Does it sound better with the EL-34's in or just with the 6L6's?

Not to be a smartass, but "better" really depends on what you prefer, and that may change from month-to-month. Try it both ways...that's one of the great things about MarK IV's.

I'm running EL34s right now, but I'm about ready to go back to the 6L6s, and maybe try something other than Mesa tubes.

As dodger said, it's a personal preference.

Personally for me, I like the sound of 4 6L6s in mine. GT6L6GE's to be exact.

I'm just trying 2 X GT6L6GE's and 2 X Winged C EL34's - nice, but needs to be in Simul to get the bottom end back.

I found 4 X GT6L6GE's a bit nyeh for the sound I had in my head.

I fiddle so much with this amp and I'm still only chipping away at what it can do....
