"godly" would be one way of describing his tone 8) its like a hot knife through butter it just melts through my ears :lol:
 
That youtube video he has where he walks you through his rig is pretty awsome. Gassing up a storm for that monster midi board he has.

Go pick up Liquid Tension Experiment 1 or 2.

His tone, in my opinion, was PERFECT in every way during those days.

That is how you'll understand that he has great tone.

I agree, why he EVER switched for a bit and used roadkings during TOT and 8VM is beyond me. Mark IV, Triaxis, and Mark IIc+ all the way.
 
I personally thought his lead / distorted tone was the best on Train of Thought and Octavarium.

Ironically his tone sounded a little fuzzy on Systematic Chaos.... After he ditched the rectifizzles... go figure!

Totally agree, his worst tone ever was systematic sauce

That's ironic cause SC was all done on a mark IV.

I understand how TOT needed the heaviness of the recs though.

I saw a vid where he explained that he changed the wood used in his EBMM and thought the Roadkings were better suited for it. After he changed it again with the BFR, he want back to his Marks. If I can find the video, Ill post it up
