In a Road King, 2 extra tubes, 1 extra effects loop, 1 extra set of speaker outs w/A, B, A/B switching. 20 watts more power when using all six tubes, for starters.

And $600.00 !

The biggest difference is that on the RK you can choose which powertubes to use, 2 6L6, 2 EL34, 2 6L6 & 2 EL34, 4 6L6 or 4 6L6 & 2 EL34. And use which ever tube combo you wish on which ever channel you wish.

On the Roadster you can use either 4 6L6 or 4 EL34, no mixing or channel assignable tubes.

The Road King also has cab switching...... You can pick what cab you want to use on each channel (only 2 different selections though), or keep it all the same on the same cab.. Even on the Combo, you can use the combo speakers or use a seperate cab on certain channels.

Where the Road Kings extra features come in handy is when you want the 6L6 crushing low end, but the EL34 mid bite for leads.... You can have channel 3 set up for 6L6's and channel 4 set up for EL34s or any combination of the two tubes. Also, the Brit mode works best with EL34's IMO and some people only like 6L6's on all the other channels, so you can have that and still have EL34's on the brit mode.
