I just secured a Mesa Boogie 2x12 vertical cab with an EVM12 in the bottom speaker, and empty top speaker. I'm selling a mark III combo and working out a deal to sell just the chassis and keep the combo shell. Should I put that EVM12 in the top or sell it and get an MC-90 black shadow, or something else? I play mostly Mesa Mark amps, mainly the III, but bought this cab to pair with the Mark IIC+ reissue coming out. I also play almost exclusively metal and Spanish music.

Ok just one opinion here. So much depends on the type of music you play, in this case metal / spanish. I have a custom vertical 2x12 built very similar to the old style vert 2x12 with a closed bottom and semi open top. A Mesa EVM went into the bottom and I tried a few different ones in the top, MC-90 was one. I finally ended up pairing a Mesa v30 with the EVM. This cab is most excellent with either my IIC+ or the V:90. It's pretty versatile tonally and there is good balance between the speakers. I drift more towards hard / classic rock but it seems to chug pretty well too.

Like 85 percent metal 80’s thrash, hair, and metal core lol. I think I’m going to use the 2 EVM’s for the low end thump it’ll give. Worst case I’ll just pickup a V-30. And MC-90’s are still for sale at mesa
