Well, I can add a little more to the story. I believe the switch on the rear with the red plate behind it will allow you to accomodate European AC power specs, which I know differ from the US 120v/60Hz standard.

The same picture shows it to be a blue stripe (above the AC power cord) model, the details of which can be found here:

I think I would be curious as to why the speaker was reconed. EVM12L's are pretty indestructible.
