Does anyone prefer them over the Vintage 30's?
What other cabs sound killer with the Rec other than the mesa cabs?

I love my Basson 4x12. Eminence Legend speakers are in it. It's got a huge low end, nice and tight and very focused sound. I think it really brings out the best in my Triple, although I hear an amazing combination is using one of these with a Mesa Rectifier cab.

Anyway, I love the Basson. Definitely worth checking out, and not nearly as expensive as other high end cabs.

I really liked the sound of my Single Rectifier into my Marshall Cab with the g12t75's. I think they are very powerful speakers and have a great tone. I think they can handle lots of low end and they sound extremely heavy with a Recto pumping into them.

I tried a 2x12 w\ g12t75's this week. It sounded a bit compressed and scooped. Not a bad thing, just different. It seemed like not as much "recto" came through if that makes sense. It was cool to be able to drive them harder since they seemed to have a later breakup. I found myself using modern high gain instead of vintage (where I usually play) because of this. I also tried an Avatar 2x12 w\ G12H30s as well. They sounded very similar to the v30s in my 2x12 recto cab except they have a bit more bass and less upper mids. I have heard that having one v30 and one g12h30 in the same cab is amazing. I'd like to try that next.

I run my DR into my Achillies 2x12 loaded with Celestion Classic Super Leads (80w each) and sound amazing! I just recorded with that setup and it produced a very unique tone (I'll post it up soon)..

I've just bought a 4x12 Achillies cab loaded with Celestion G12-H speakers.. I don't think I've ever head a better speaker suited to a Mesa!

One time a G12T75 started smoking and basically blew, so a wise man said "The G12T75 realized it sounded like crap, so it committed suicide"

That's all you need to know.

That's awesome! I don't have any experience with these speakers, but that's hilarious!

Quite true......especialy compared to what else is available. C90 Black Shadow would be nice. Hi power Emi's, hi power Webers....etc...

I've grown quite fond of the Mesa Amp + Alnico Speaker combination!

I agree. I have a Marshall 4x12 loaded with 2 G12T75s and 2 The Governors and it sounds great. I wasn't much fond of it with G12T75s alone.

I have g12t-75s on my 4x12 Marshall cab and I think they "close" too much the Recto sound. When I record my Triple Rectifier using this cab I need to use a lot of mids and highs on my settings, turning down almost all the basses, but it still sounds too dark for a nice guitar sound. Maybe it's because this speakers (especially on Marshall cabs) were used with Marshall heads, that are very brillant in the sound. Instead speakers like V30, more "open", used with Recto amps, usually darker then Marshall ones, could be the right choose.
