I've got skill A.D.D. when I find a great band in my ears and don't actually practice like I should. I'd rather be listening to the metronome but instead I kick on my iPod and play along with Santa Cruz's The Expendables and of course, Death Magnetic. Also, Rancid, Vinnie Moore's "Out of Nowhere" album, or at least parts of it. And if I want to make my ears ring, NOFX. I feel so young doesn't anyone on here play punk? Or is it just cuz I have a Recto.... :?:

NOFX!!!! they play mk 3s

On the contrary my friend, El Hefe plays a Mark III while Melvin plays a 2-ch Recto. Not sure if it's a triple or dual. And for the record, Fat Mike plays a Dan Electro bass because of his bad back and its light weight.

listening to:

dark new day - twelve year silence
taproot - long road home

-PJ

In my CD player right now is

AC/DC - Black Ice
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeeds - Dig Lazarus Dig

wow! I like 90% of that stuff a lot.

definitely check out Miles Davis Jack Johnson sessions! I'm literally listening to that RIGHT NOW! Miles and James Morrison were true artists...

can't say jack sh!t for these post 2000 fellows...

Never listed to any Miles Davis. Embarassing I know, but you've reminded me to add that to my list. Listened to and owned all of the Doors albums between my dad and I. Read most of his poetry too..might be time to re visit some of that as well.

I know there is not a lot of newer music in my playing (going back to what's comfortable I guess) but I really Like Mastodon. Wish there were more bands like that. I should have Remission in a couple of days and am really looking forward to checking that out.
