1st post for me.. I have had my WAS 15 combo for about 9 years and love the amp. Shortly after I bought it new I noticed a minor underlying distortion. I have changed input tubes 3 or 4 times since I have had it and the noise is not to do with them. I love the warmth and flexibility of the amp and have used it at thousands of large and small gigs but this background distortion is ever-present and I want to fix it.
My service guy says he has tracked the problem to the output stage and says one of the MosFet transisters is hotter than the other 3. We have tried to locate a service manual and/or circuit diagram but no luck. Has anyone else had this problem and can anyone help with a circuit diagram. Its an early one, I heard that MB changed the output design around 2005.. Think mine would be before that, I am in Auckland NZ. Hope someone can help. I have stopped using the amp for the moment... Thanks in advance....
