Hello,

I have a Cry Baby Wah Wah in my pedal board, connected to the FX Loop. When in the Loop, my WahWah sounds very strange, thin and with low volume on the bass side (heel pressed down on the pedal). If I run it in front of the amp it sounds perfect, but for me would be a lot easier if I could run in on the FX Loop.

How are you guys are connecting your WahWah pedals? Front or FX Loop? Is there any WahWah pedal that works good on the loop? Any mods I could do on mine?

My pedalboard is set with: Buffer > WahWah > Booster (Xotic EP) > Chorus > Phaser > Delay > Loop Station.

Wah-wah's almost universally belong out front of the amp, yes they sound quite strange in the FX loop. If you're playing with a lot of gain it can be an interesting sound but I think it's too extreme of an effect that way.

The only wah I've ever used in the loop was the one in my GMajor2 and it didn't sound that bad.... it really didn't sound that good either! LOL

Yeah, for almost everything, you want the wah pedal close to your guitar, not after distortion, and defnitely not in the effects loop.

But I think Randy Rhoads used to place a wah pedal after distortion. Gives you a much more extreme dirty, raspy, filter-like sound you don't get otherwise. A bit too extreme for most music styles and not what most people think a wah should sound like but it can be fun for fooling around if you like crazy effects.

Now that I finally build my pedal board I thought that I could ran all them on the loop. But that's ok, only one more cable to deal with.
