vs-12 (vintage black shadow) speaker opinions?

This speaker isn't discussed a whole lot, I was wondering what people thought of it. Would it make a good companion to a studio pre and peavey 50/50 setup? I know it's not the speaker of choice on the board, but I can get one for a decent price. Some advice would be much appreciated, thanks.

Which black shadow? mesa has used that name on many speakers.

I guess I mean the vintage 50. It's 50 watt and says VS-12 on it anyway.

I've never really shopped around for speakers and I'm pretty clueless with them, but I guess a 50W speaker with a 50/50 poweramp would be a recipy for disaster? I'd rather keep my rig more managable with a 1x12 ideally.

The VS-12's are pretty cool. They have fast tracking and are a little bright. They do have a vintage sound to them... I thought they sounded great for Yngwie style.
