I'm working on some dotted eighth delay stuff ala "The Edge" and was wondering if anybody has dialed in a pseudo Vox tone that they could share their settings with me? Mark V of course and DD5 delay.

have you tried ch1 tweed, 45w or lower, some verb, trebly but not too much, only a tad bit of bass, mids up and tweak the presence & geq until it gets there? might help to use el34's too, though i'm not sure if they really approximate el84's and the top end chime. i would use it on full power to keep the clarity and punch that can get lost on variac and low master vol settings.

it might also help to use those particularly famous blue speakers...

oh and delay in the loop.

i could be totally off, but that's what makes sense to me from what i hear in my brain. i don't aim for the voxy chime; i keep things on fat all the time, but perhaps this may work? let me know. i'm interested myself to see if this is an alternate option for recording purposes.

Seriously, channel 2 Edge, back off the gain until you get just a bit of smear on a chord. Up the mids to 12-1 ish, back off the treble and presence depending on your speakers. I think this has a very Vox-like sound. As mejoshee says, you get really close with EL34s.

I have dialed 'Edge' mode in to get a Vox-like tone though I don't remember the settings (Vox has never been a good fit for me). I'll give it another go this week and post my settings if I can repeat it.
