Volume Pedal in Signal Chain

Where would a volume pedal go in my signal chain?

Here is my chain:

Guitar - Wah - Phase 90 - Whammy Pedal - Demonizer Distortion - Boost - Chorus - Eq - Noise Gate - Sonic Maximizer - Delay

I want to be able to do volume swells.

If you want it to affect your tone put it right after your guitar.
So it will diminish gain and volume.Less gain = less distortion.
If you want it just to turn down your volume put it after all your stuff,better in your amp's loop.

I find myself using my vol pedal for dynamics much the same as turning down the volume on the instrument, call me lazy
