Volume fluctuating

Hey everyone, I have a Express 5:50, the volume is fluctuating by itself, with a little gritchy noise. Any ideas why? My lamps are more than year old. Could it be that?

Before seeing if you have a problem for a tech I would clean the power tubes pin sockets, tighten them up and retry.

I got rid of a lot of not good sounding noises on a rectoverb tightening the pins. I saw someone on here does this 1st thing when he gets a used amp. I think it's a great idea.
