$400 to recone a V30. Cheaper to just buy a replacement. I would not waste my money on that. This is what I used in my OS Recto 412 cab when I took out the crappy V30 speakers from that year of cab. You would get more speaker for the money spent.

The end result is a massive cab that will blow you mind. Probably not a good fit for a Dual Rectifier though. Much better if that amp you are waiting for is a Reissue IIC+ or if you bought into the hype of the limited run IIC++ (don't buy that, you can mod the IIC+ if needed, but wait until after the warranty expires. Why not just buy two IIC+ reissues as that is the cost of the IIC++). I had rebuilt this cab several times to the point I could not longer attach the grill from inside. Had to do it the other way. Also had to add some rubber foam to prevent the grill from vibrating.
With the grill on. Should have used black washers instead of silver.
You can buy direct from Mesa and get the current V30 speakers that they are now using. Much better than the one's that were shipped in the 2000 year cab. They do have the 8 ohm version. $160 each. That would be way better than recone an older model.

This is what Mesa has been using for some time now. This cab rocks with all of my amps. Why I have two of them but with different grill cloths. This one is from 2015. Basket no longer had the ink stamp for the part number, it is on a label on the side of the magnet. They look nearly identical to the original 2000 but have a different part number and cone number. They sound completely different, in other words they sound really good. I would say they are a more universal 412 cab with the current V30 speakers. I can run any of my Mesa amps and they all sound good. From the Mark to the Recto and in-between. First time I opened up the back of one of the newer 412 cabs. At least it was not sealed like the OS Recto cab.
Note that the traditional size cab you have will provide more midrange content. I was considering that after I bought the MWDR in 2018. Just by chance I had to take a trip to Corona CA for work, drove up to Hollywood and visited the Mesa store on the Sunset Strip and I was able to try the traditional 412 and the Standard 412 cab. I preferred the Standard as it had a more scooped sound which to me worked better with the MWDR. Roadster was a different animal and much darker in tone. It was better with the EV speakers. So far nothing beats the JP2C or the Mark VII with the EV loaded 412 cab. I did not favor the MWDR with the EV speakers though. Preferred the more current V30 that Mesa has been using since they changed the voice coil back to what it was supposed to be and not the one used with the Marshall brand of V30. They are listed as the 70W G12 Vintage (basically the same speaker as the 2000 OS recto but 16-ohms and the cab is also rated at 280W, reference Marshall 2551A. they are just as flubby as the Mesa 70W version but they work with the 2555x amp. I did run the Marshall with the Standard 412, the 60W V30 speakers just sound better. That is my 2 cents of opinion. Sure, it is all subjective.
There are those that formed their own group called the V30 Haters Club. I was once a member myself but that was because of the 70W-V30 flatulence speakers. For me it was a big risk to spend money on yet another 412 cab, figured it would sound like crap but it paid off and actually sounded great. No regrets getting that cab. The 2551A cab in the middle has the 70W G12 Vintage. Same bloody speaker as the 70W-V30.
