Yeah, I like Joe Walsh a lot too. Instantly recognizable slide work. Very entertaining live and he has a great sense of humor.
That short little guitar solo on Funk #49? Are you kidding me? Great stuff!

Great song choice you linked us to by the way Joey B.
My buddy sent me an email today with some photos on that same topic.
Can't post them here though.

The slide work, talk box, bending chords, and the "off the cuff" playing are what I dig. He never really sounds overly structured, and that keeps it fresh, for me. :D

Greg Martin is one of my current favorites and an incredibly under rated player. Most people have heard him with the Kentucky Headhunters but he has two other bands that are really great--The Mighty Jeremiahs (a Christian blues rock band that also features Jimmy Hall from Wet Willie on vocals) and Rufus Huff (MONSTER riffs and great blues rock with to die for Les Paul into old Marshall tones--amazing!). He also does a great blues radio show most every Monday night that has featured interviews with buddies of his like Billy Gibbons, the late Delaney Bramlett, Peter Frampton and many more. Not to be missed and old shows and interviews are archived (although you might need to e-mail Greg for the PW).

Another great and very under rated player that has become a new fav is Lee Roy Parnell. Most consider him a country player and singer songwriter and he is that...but much more. Think Country crooner meets the Allman Brothers (great slide and conventional solos, currently done on old Les Pauls into Marshalls. Everything from acoustic country blues to jazzy instrumentals). Great guitar player with wonderful tones from a range of guitars. A real players player that has never gotten his due.

My two cents.

Mark
