tube retainers

Has anyone changed the clip style reatiners to the spring loaded ones on the power tubes?
Did it have any positive or negative affectss?
I am using a Mark 1 Combo,
Any thouughts?????

You could add them easily, but I have never had a tube fall out of any Boogie head or combo. Two were shipped via UPS that I bought from Missouri and New York. The only tube that fell out was a preamp tube which needed the socket snugged up. If your stock tube clamps are worn out or rusty, you can buy them anywhere. Be careful as the original screws are self tapping and may not want to tighten all the way after they have been removed. Same for the transformers.
