Tube power amp with solid state preamp

does anyone use any Line 6 pod pros for their mesa power amps? If so, how do they sound? thanks!

Ive not used the POD into the 2:100 but I have tried the Digitech 2101... it sounded very good even using the solid state distortion.

I used to use a POD Pro into my 2:Ninety...and i was not impressed. Sold the POD and got a tube preamp.

Michael Sweet from Stryper uses a Tech 21 Sansamp PSA-1. He has used it with 2:100 Power amps as well as various tube amp heads to power it through the effects return. If you can get a hold of a copy 7 Weeks Live in America, pan to the left to hear his guitar track. Killer!!!

One of our writers swears by his BOSS GT-PRO into a Boogie tube power amp. He finds that it brings back the warmth and presence that straight modeling is missing.
