Tube Matching

Hey,

I need more gain on my Stiletto, bad. Been looking into new tubes, anybody tried Electro-Harmonix? Sovtek? Mullard? Groove Tubes? And I've heard everyone here talk about JJ, but i can't get those at Guitar Center.

Dude, go with the JJ/GrooveTube EL-34LS's and use a JJ ECC-803 in V1 and ECC-83's in V2-V5. You'll Be happy! Groove Tubes buys JJ tubes and I know you can get these from Guitar Center (Guitarget). For the Power Tubes use a #4 grade if you go with GT. Or even talk with the guy at www.eurotubes.com I think his name is Bob. He has a good knowledge of high gain tubes.

There is a high-gain front-end tube kit available from Eurotubes, but I'd look into these mods that are being done to the Stilleto's! There's another thread around here somewhere that talks about it, I think the Mesa store in Hollywood is offering it.
