I've been an ADA MP-2 owner for about 15 years and have, for very short times, had a few used heads for only a matter of months with very little use.
My ADA is getting ready to croak so I'm ordering a Triple Rectifier next Friday. This will be an entirely new realm for me having virtually no experience with an actual head.
The MP-2 has a stereo effects loop. I run it into an Eventide GTR4000 and a Yamaha ProR3--everything blends nicely. But, I notice the Triple Rec only has one send and return and am very curious as to how I can accomplish going stereo with my FX rack WITHOUT having to invest in another cabinet.
I have a feeling that I could have potentially let the FX send ride out to my existing solid state ADA power amp and into a cab but I only have one 4 x 12 Marshall 1960B and really don't want to invest any more money for quite some time after purchasing the Triple Rec and another guitar just about 2 weeks ago.
I am, perhaps incorrectly, under the impression that if I use a splitter going FROM the TR send and another one TO the TR return that I'll experience signal loss. Would that be correct? Would there be any benefit to going stereo anyway since it'll return in mono? Alot of the Eventide effects are based upon panning so I'm a little concerned with the mono FX loop.
My setup now, which works nicely is as follows:
ADA MP-2 > FX Loop (STEREO SEND) > Eventide GTR4000 (Delays, choruses, flanges, etc.) > FX Loop (STEREO RETURN) > ADA MP-2 Stereo OUT > Yamaha ProR3 Reverb (STEREO IN/OUT) > (STEREO IN/OUT) Power Amp.
The ADA currently does all the mixing for the FX loop at about 25%.
Any ideas on how to get the best sound out of this rig would be greatly appreciated.
