Triple rectifier - Power reducing

Hi. I just bought a Triple Rectifier and I'd like to know if there's a way to safely reduce the power to 100W or 50W?

I don't think there is because of the way the circuit is designed. Only the Dual Recs can be reduced.

Might an attenuator work?

Can NOT be done on a Triple recto.

Thanks everybody for all your answers. Just got a mail yesterday evening from MesaBoogie concerning my question. Here it is, if it might help somebody else:

Greetings,

Thanks for your email. You can lower the wattage to 100watts if you like. You should remove the 2 most inner power tubes (6L6’s). If you were looking at the row of power tubes and visually label them 1 through 6, you will want to pull tubes 3 and 4. You will also want to pull any one of the Rectifier tubes and move the speaker output to the 4ohm jack on the back of the amp.

well, i have 2 X 60 watt speakers in my cabinet, so i would have to do that if i wanted to use a triple rec.

Thanks for letting us know this. You may want to contact Kris again and ask him are the manuals going to be updated to reflect this? I know the manual states that it can only be done on the Dual Rec's. (page 9 of 2ch manual and page 14 of the 3ch manual)

FJA Mods also told me this was possible. He pretty much advised me word for word. I doubt this would make it to the manual.

no, i wouldnt put the amp on 10, but id rather have peace of mind when im turned up a bit.
