Hi ,

I'm using my triaxis with my racked G-System and a Roland GR-33.

The midi out of the G System changes the Roland (midi out to midi in) but the neither the G-System or Roland will switch the Triaxis. It worked up to about a week ago and I think I must have accidentally changed something on the preamp while trying to do a bulk data dump to my PC. ( Pressing SHIFT and something else ?? )

Any ideas how to get it back to where it was or is the 'midi in' just shagged ?

I know this issue came up before but without resolution.

I haven't tried restoring Factory settings yet but I may have to unless someone can help me.

Maybe you changed the midi channel on the Triaxis from "omni" to something else (1, 2...). Press the "pgm/ch" button below the program channel display and check what number appears, you can change the program channel using the left/right arrows.

That seems to have worked .....THANKS MAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a matter of interest what setting is Omni on the Triaxis ? It seems to run from 1 - 16

Thanks again :D

Nice!! this forum is great for getting help from all the folks here!

It doesn't have Omni. It will only listen to the channel it's set to.

I had this problem as well and I fixed it by taking the TriAxis MIDI Out > GMajor MIDI In and setting the GMajor to MIDI Ch2.

I have the Ground Control Pro going into the TriAxis.

I run the Triaxis in Loop 1 of the G-System and it seems to work well plus it allows me to manually switch out the triaxis if I need to.

I run all now on Midi Channel 1. My signal is basically guitar into Channel 1 of the ISP Decimator Pro Rack G then out of that into the G-System.

After that its out of Loop 1 on the G-System to input on the triaxis and out of the triaxis into Channel 2 of the Pro Rack G then back into the G-System.....

then stereo out of the G- System into the 2 : 90

seems to work fine

I have my Gsystem switching my Triaxis. Had some problems (front panel buttons sticking after changing patches, but fine after reboot) when I went:

Gsystem MIDI out -> PSA-1
PSA-1 MIDI out -> Triaxis

Switched to:

Gsystem MIDI out -> Triaxis MIDI in
Triaxis MIDI Thru -> PSA-1 MIDI in

Works fine, though I run everything on Ch1. Haven't tried multiple channel control.

Hi, sorry for taking so much time to get back. As I know on the Triaxis you've to set the midi channel to "0" to be on the omni as the rest of you rig, at least thi works for me.

Hi, my Triaxis failed to receive or interpret correctly the MIDI messages it used to receive happily without any problem.

The MIDI sequence was this:
Roland FC200 (MIDI pedalboard) MIDI OUT - Roland GP100 MIDI IN, MIDI THROUGH - Triaxis MIDI IN.

I have tried to change the MIDI channel accordingly on these 3 products, I also changed the MIDI chain order, with the Triaxis in the middle and I have already connected the foot controler separately to each of the devices.

Channel change did nothing to solve the problem.

Connecting the the pedalboard to each of the devices with the same cable, I could see that both the cable, the GP100 and the FC-200 were in order, the Triaxis has not responded properly.

With the Triaxis in the middle of the sequence, the unexpected happened, which was to see the GP100 patch to change randomly.

Conclusion, the problem is right in the Triaxis MIDI switching... or not? Software bug solve by resetting to factory or...???

Thanks for the inside look on this.

Hello again

I have been reading about a Ribbon Cable in TriAxis that might be the cause of many troubles. Can this be the cause for the problem I am finding? Where do I find this Ribbon Cable... ok inside, how do I identify it? are there any photos for guidance?

Thanks again

From the looks of it, seems you have the exact same problem I've just fixed in my Triaxis. It was doing the random program change thing and turns out it was the 8-pin 6N139 otptocoupler which is located in the main (large) board close to the front panel, to the right of the metal cover that goes over the CPU, EPROM, etc. I recommend being really careful removing the IC as excess heat can damage the PCB leads. I also recommend installing a socket instead of soldering the new component directly to the board just in case you have to replace it again. I had no trouble finding it in Brazil so I doubt it's going to be a hard to find item anywhere else. If you're not familiar with a soldering iron I recommend taking your Triaxis to someone who is, the IC will cost you a dollar and for a skilled technician the whole thing shouldn't take more than an hour. Good luck!

EDIT: Here's one way to be more or less sure that the problem is the aforementioned 6N139: if the random program change happens a LOT more often when you set all your devices to MIDI channel 1 than at channel 10 (Triaxis must be first in the chain of course), then that's probably it.
