I've had the triaxis awhile- and the 2:90 was just too much of a monster for my needs. (LOUD!!!)

I'm interested in the 20/20 poweramp, but even 20 watts can be alot for just jamming by oneself.

So my question is-- could I run the triaxis into the new Mini-Rectifier?
The downside is that the triaxis wouldn't be run in stereo? Would I run the triaxis directly into the front or into the effects loop? Would either of these be advisable?

Has anyone tried this?

I'd imagine you could set up the triaxis as a 'footswitch' channel switch and layer the triaxis on top of the channel 2 for some true sickness or an added level of tone?

Would this work?

The thing that I'm interested in the mini-rectifier is the switchable 10/20 watt modes. If I could have the 20/20 with a push pull wattage option, that'd be killer. Anyone seen any mods on that?

You could try running to the FX loop with no problems. I wouldn't try to run it into the front because i don't think that would sound good. One pre feeding another pre always gets funky tones. If you want to convert a 20/20 to a 10/10 you could use a Yellowjacket. They make tube adapters that can turn any 6l6, el34, 6v6, or el84 amp into a triode amp with 10 watts per side using el84 tubes. Just plug them in and go. I've heard good things about them but never tried one. London Power also makes kits to do class A power but they are pricey and require a large amount of know how.

Peace,
Joshua

You have to run it into the fx return , but , seriously, are you willing to pay 999$ for a power amp ?!

I run a triaxis with a 20/20 and I can get a decent tone out of it at good volume (90 DB)
If I want less, I run the recording out in a small 30$ mixer, so I can jam with my iPod.

Why don't you just get an epiphone valve junior? It's a 5 watt head which has one knob, volume. It's basically just a mini power amp.

For jamming by yourself it's more than enough. 5 watts seems small but for at home it's surprisingly loud. Maybe you can get some power tube distortion out of it as well by cranking it. I compared it to my Peavey classic 50/50 power amp and the tone was basically the same. One el84 instead of eight.

Pretty good option for $100-$150.

On another note I still wish I could find a small power amp that would run one el34. Why do all low wattage amps have to be el84?

Yeah you can count out bedroom level if you dime it for sure.
