Boogie uses LDR's because they don't make pop sound like relays. That's the only advantage. Hex buffer electronic switching is one of my faves used in the evil empire carvin X100b s and other modern amps.

Well. F* me for just finding this thread. Anyway, my DC3 has "1995" written on one of the caps and it's got a bad LDR and it's been a pain since day 1 whenever the amp would run hot.
So, you guys felt confident changing these out from the top of the board?
