Been playing the damn thing for a couple of hours and found at least 8 separate settings on the lead channel that are all equally brilliant.

Now I wish I had eight of these amps :D :D :D :D :D

Seriously this thing is unfawkinbelievable. No matter how I set the dials and switches everything sounds so good. I've been relying on the settings chart I found here and holy moly this amp smokes everything I've ever played in my life.

So glad I pulled the trigger and made the trade. The guy I traded with seemed pretty happy to. But I think he was thinking " **** I'm getting a brand new mesa in an even trade for this 20 year old piece of crap".

He told me that this amp was made in 1989 which makes it old enough to drink. Cool I'll stop rambling now and go have a beer with my MKIV.
:D :D :D :D

Well it was a joke actually.

I meant that the lead channel was so good that I wanted eight more.

I'm just playing through the black shadow at the moment but I'll hook it up to my 4x12 recto next week. I'm guessing that will be a life altering experience.

I've wanted one of these for 20. years now so for me finally owning one is a climax on a biblical scale

Funny thing tho, on two separate occasions 15 years apart I had the cash and walked into the mesa dealership to custom order a mk 4 (one time a combo the other time I wanted a head) both times I walked out with a dual rectifier half stack. :D :D :D :D

I love my new IV as well. You can make it a bonecrushing machine of death
or make it purr like a big kitty cat. It's awesome!

Cheers and play that beast LOUD! :)

Congrats!

When I was searching for a 4x12 cab, I brought my C+ to the store to play through the cabs they had.
When I was done and decided what I wanted, I asked the seller to check out the stiletto.
And he wouldn't let me, there was no point, the C+ was superior sounding over the stiletto.

You had me there for a second.

When I first got my Mark IV, it totally floored me. I loved it. But I figured, hey I am in that new gear phase, it will wear off.

It hasn't.

It is my most favorite amp, ever!

It's strange, because I still love my Road King, and it can do things the Mark IV can't. I even feel slightly guilty for liking the IV more since the Road King was my first Mesa.
