That guy is a great player, and the demos sound great. They also have me gassing for Les Paul and a Telecaster. Just great.

After watching those, I just messed around a bunch with my MV. That video taught me a few things about tweaking it.

First, I now have a much better clean tone on fat mode than I did before, so cool beans there.

Second, I noticed that they tended to have treble much lower and the presence much higher than I do. So, I messed around a bunch with that, seeing what would happen if I operated on a principle that treble and presence should have an inverse relationship. I discovered a number of cool new tones with the presence up and the treble down. I also realized that I might like crunch mode best with the EQ off.

Finally, I got some new sounds out of Mark I mode. That mode is probably the trickiest on the amp, but at the same time, it's very versatile. I've gotten AC/DC crunch, metal, blues, and even pseudo-fuzz tones out of it.

This makes me wish I had a second Mark V head so I could quickly switch between sounds. If only they had MIDI-controlled Mark V rackmount unit with 99 presets...
