tonal difference between DC-10 on 60watt mode and DC-5???

This may be a silly question:
Is there much tonal difference between the DC-10 in the 60 watt mode and the DC-5? I'm talking about the head versions of each.

If you change the impedance jack to the next lower one when you are in the 60 watt mode, it gets pretty close.
If you don't, then it sounds terrible to me.

My current DC-10 doesn't have the 60 watt switch, it's a really early one. I don't really miss it though. I think I only used the switch 3 or 4 times on my other DC-10 when I had it.

It seems to take a lot of the thunder out of the amp.
