I'm been gassing for a new pickup lately. I've had a Tom Anderson pup (HN3 i think) in one of my guitars for about 15 years and i saw a demo the other day of a Suhr Aldrich pup that made my jaw drop.

I think the HN3 sounds great for leads - creamy and smooth, but for high gain rhythm it can be s a bit mushy.

For what it's worth, the guitar has a mahogany body, maple neck, and ebony fingerboard with a floyd style bridge.

Any opinions? I'm trying to stay away from dimarzios as I have them in so many other guitars and i'm not interested in actives. I want something with balls that has definition for high gain rhythm but still feels smooth and creamy for single note leads.

Cheers

maybe something from Bill Lawrence? http://wildepickups.com/. I have them in one of my guitars and am very pleased with them.
