I have a Mark V that I really like but for some reason a Dual Rect sounds interesting. There isn't any music stores in my area that carry Mesa's and the You Tube demos don't do any amp justice. What type of tone differences can I expect?

Whatever your Mark is, the Recto is not. Mark can be very tight and articulate or delicate and soft. The Recto is massive lows, softer feel but more 'oomph' behind the chords IMO.

As for clips, I have some of my Recto:

Hope that helps.

They're about as opposite as you can get while somehow still managing to achieve the signature "Mesa" sound.

Mark = Tighter, more compressed, smoother.

Recto = Bigger, less compressed, rawer.

Those are generalities of course, as you know that the Mark has several different modes that sound quite different from each other, as does the Recto.

You can always go the route of myself and many others....A recto AND a Mark!

Would you be willing to help me talk my wife into that?
