Mahogany body. Figured bubinga top. Edge III trem. (INF1 & 2 loaded so some Dimarzios would perk it up im sure...)

I think we might be talking tone here for $600! Although, i'm not entirely crazy about the brown burst finish; I can always deal, or refinish it!

So has anyone played/own one? I need to get my hands on one! I bet it's got that hunky sound like the RGT42DXFM...and heavy to the shoulders...

i'd keep in mind that the bubinga top is a veneer, so you're not gaining anything tonally. $600 for a guitar that you're swapping the pickups out on and maybe refinishing doesn't really seem worth it to me especially when there are so many deals out there in this current economic situation. i've seen some prestiges going used for $500 lately.

but to answer your question they're not bad guitars...but the edge III trems are absolutely terrible so you'd either want to block it or replace it.

I played one and it was okay. The pickups are okay at best, but for stock pickups, they're not too bad. Neck feels great, finish is nice.

I haven't had any issues with the Edge III in my RG, but it's nothing compared to an Edge Pro.

Cool, thanks guys. Yeah, I think im going to just hold out and treat myself to a RG2550Z or a Jem777VDY for christmas!

I need a new rosewood fretboard guitar, and Ibanez is my prime choice, but I love modding my axes too. If I can afford the Jem ill go for that, but otherwise, I really like the 2550Z too.

Good choice with the 2550. I played a lot of shows on my old modded 2550E
