I think this guys stuff is pretty impressive..

thats my guitar great instrument, and david's a magician. the hollowbody up there is indeed a spruce top - his dragonfly deluxe, completely hollowed out, with some cool electronics too. you should check out his heel on those guitars, awesome - super smooth.

Just my epi. Bad pictures, guitar is dirty but you get the idea. By no means is it a rare beuty but I think it looks good. Cool post.

My custom made Carvin DC150:

It was made in the custom shop in Nashville. Someone set the guitar down on a table before the clear coat dried. They were gonna trash it but one of the workers bought it and finished it. Has all gibby wiring and 57 pups. Sweet deal for an epi. I played a ZW epi in GC yesterday. I thought it felt very plain. Nothing special about it for a "custom" neck was very sharp and the action was high.

I never had the opportunity to play a Conklin guitar, but they sure look great. Does anyone have any experience with them?

My ideal guitar is a neck-through 7-string with Anderson pickups. My Carvin DC-727 basically fits that description, but it's not exactly not drool-worthy, like a custom hand-made guitar with super exotic hardwoods.


Here is an 8-string Conklin. I'm guessing the wood is figured walnut, but they don't really say what it is:

My sometimes (when I have time and money) teacher Rusty Cooley WWW.rustycooley.com has a couple of Conklins, and I have played his 8 string fan-fret one. Beautiful instrument, and suprisingly easy to play. The extra strings are harder to figure out than the fanned frets.
