its not even the last one.
the guy says "it might be the last one".

that is the ultimate in pointless ebay bullshiting right there.
no one will ever buy it at that price anyway.

my other favorite part of that auction:

"THIS IS PROBABLY ONE OF THE RAREST AMPS IN THE WORLD TO OWN..."

that whole listing is a great example of people just plain making **** up to try and hawk their gear.

yup total ebay rip-off ,yes its a nice amp and its brand new but WTF its double the retail price. You can probaly still order one direct from Mesa?

Uh, they're discontinued. Hence why the guy says that its probably one of the last ones made. You can't get them from Mesa anymore.

As far as the price goes, the guy's out of his mind. I actually think he posted that for sale here a while back. There's no way that the custom tolex raises the price $2500 or whatever. Thats just a perfect example of someone trying to make a ridiculous amount of profit on an item and bullshitting everyone else. Considering there's probably 20,000 Mark IV's out there, I'd barely call them 'rare'. Typical ebay.

I just bought a Mark 4 long head today and the serial number is:
# iv-12924.
The guy who sold it to me bought it in Montreal last july.
I'm pretty sure that is one of the last 100 or near but how can i find out what is the last serial number that came out of Petaluma?

By the way, the sound is incredible. I'm not sure but there's so much difference between my combo and the head with thiele...could it be the tube???
In my head, it's all mesa with yellow 6l6 and i can tell you that it rocks. In my combo, it's the cocktail of Doug's tube. I thought it was ok till i heard my new head...wow!!!!

FYI-

Our local store received a BRAND NEW CUSTOM MARK IV 2 WEEKS ago-
Tasmanian Blackwood with Cane front 112 combo. I watched it be received, and I watched it come out of the box.

The amp on eBay IS NOT the last Mark IV.

Please don't drink this sellers Kool-Aid....

I had one of the last Mark IV's built back in March, but I sent it back to Boogie since it sounded like crap and had static sound all the time... and no it was not the tubes. Boogie told me they would not replace it since they were not building them anymore. I took my money and ran...

That guy's amp is worth WAYYY more than he's selling it for, so I'm going to buy it. He didn't mention in his ebay posting that it has the very last knobs ever made for a MkIV (they were put on after all the other MkIVs had their knobs put on), and the rubber coating the power-cord is from the same batch that they made Santana's power-cord with.

I'm tellin' ya guys.....this is probably one of the rarest amps in the world to own.........
