Great video.

The MW is one of the pinnacle amps that Mesa created after the refinement of the design. Not sure how different the DR vs the TR is, I have the DR. One feature you missed, SPONGY power. Also, tube tracking characteristics on bold or spongy can be loads of fun too.

Not sure what speakers Mesa was using in the 90's. I had an OS Recto 412 that totally useless. It had that flubby sound you described. All that changed when Celestion went to a change in the voice coil specifically for Mesa. This may have occurred in 2004? The standard 412 cabs (same as OS Recto) with the revised voice coil and they sound really good. Some say Mesa and Marshall miss-labeled their cabinets, BS. If this was true they would still sound the same after making the change from 280W to 240W. That comes to the Marshall 2555 Silver Jubilee and the 2551AV cab. 280W, Marshall's version of the V30 with their label on it, but sounds identical to the V30 speakers that were in the 2000 OS Recto cab. Works great for Marshall but not Mesa (Royal Atlantic is the exception).

I have two Dual Rectifiers. Both are MW but one of them is the 4 ch Roadster. That came out about the same time as the Mark V90 in 2009. Much darker in tone than the MWDR but both are exceptional amps. Not sure what power tubes you got in the MWTR.

The MW may not drop much on character in spongy mode like the Roadster. Both are still great for alternative music and on tube rectifier tracking vs diode. Give it a shot and see what you think about that. Curious what the Triple would sound like on spongy with tube tracking. Loads of good sounds with the MWDR.
