:) well its always nice to make new friends !! :)

yeah i just saw converge a couple times.. both with mastodon.. in NY and NJ. Tell you the truth Mastodon didn't sound that awesome @ webster. But they sounded toooo good @ starland.
Converge AWESOME both times. :p also i just caught them @ this tiny place in hackensack NJ called the "School of Rock." Sounded way too good.

I'm going to catch ISIS/JESU/Torche in NYC this month.. as long as JESU gets in the country! That will not be a tour to miss!! so get on it :p The drummer from Intronaut is playing with Jesu! ack! so fkn awesome. I caught them in NYC in octoberish.. he is one unbelievable drummer.

Have fun @ converge!

Converge AWESOME both times.
Good to hear! I'll be seeing Masterdon with Slayer in April.
The Isis gig you'll be seeing is probably the same tour I just saw them on except in Australia we got These Arms are Snakes and Laura (oz band). Both supports were awesome. Isis.... you are in for one hell of a treat!!! Heavy as all hell. And they use Mesa

i'm having trouble finding sound clips...i've heard some of a couple but I would like to hear more...anybody got any ideas where i could find more sound clips of neil zaza?

Try Neil's site. Here's a link to the video section of his site: http://www.neilzaza.com/video/video.html. Also, try Guitar9.com: http://www.guitar9.com/sing.html - be sure to check out the short clip for "I'm Alright". That's one of Neil's signature tunes.

But back to Andy Timmons. His tone on "Deliver Us", the opening track of "Resolution", is probably the one tone in the past few years that pretty much stopped me in my tracks. In fact, if a Stiletto can get me somewhat near that ballpark, I just may have to start saving up for one! :D

thanks!!!!!!!!

I personally cannot get enough of the tone Andy Timmons has going on on his latest cd "resolution"......I like it all but I've been sitting here listening to "Gone (9/11/01)" and just freaking out....I mean it is nearly perfect in my humble opinion......if you guys know what I'm talking about then let's spread the love some....if you have not heard it then please go and check out some clips.....it's some good stuff I tell ya! Got to go listen some more.
is that your band ?great stuff

as far as heavy tones go, my personal favorite is Meshuggah. their new album is just flat out sick.

No doubt. ObZen will be a great album. For those that want to hear their latest work go here, the song is called Bleed...

http://danmax.net/john/Stuff/Meshuggah%20-%20Bleed.mp3

It may take awhile to load.

it actually leaked a day or two ago. if you search around the torrent sites you could probably find it. it's so good that i'm actually going to buy it when it comes out in march.

Timmon's tone was what turned me onto the Stiletto.... But he plays it better than me LOL

Petrucci's tone on Scenes From a Memory is the cats pajamas for me. Pete Loefller (spelling) from Chevelle has some awesome rythm tone to.

the scenes from a memory tone is awesome indeed!!!!!!

my favorite rig tone right now?

Jeff Kollman

Cosmosquad

"Acid Test"

using a Fender Supersonic

I think it's cool that a lot of metal bands these days actually care about their tone and know what sounds good. That ugly thrash tone trend is finally gone.

Joe Bonamassa - Sloe Gin
Released awhile back but still a staple in my 6 disc changer...

Brad Paisley had some great tone on his latest too

As for the heavies go:
Tremonti on Blackbird
Richard Z with his new band Emigrate (I'm a big industrial fan)
Can't leave out Papa Hetfield either... after all, he's what got me into this mess called guitar lol

+1 on Paisley's tone - he's a great player.

I'm going to go somewhat old shool here. Look up Walter Trout on You Tube. He's an amazing blues player. He uses a battered old '73 strat right into a Mark IV. I think he gets a very sweet tone. He can make that guitar sing.

The tone on that song is actually from a couple Marshalls and a Tubedriver pedal. Check out this video of him laying down the leads on that track. He goes thru the gear about 3/4 the way thru the video.
No doubt on of the best tones I've heard in a long time.

Marco Sfogli's lead tone on his new CD may already be my favorite ever (sorry Petrucci :p ). Mesa Studio Pre into a 2:90.
