I notice a lot of people use SED Winged C's for their DR but I have read many good things about the TAD 6L6's, especially in Fender amps. Anybody try these in their Mesa's ? How do they compare ?

I've tried TAD and Winged C 6L6s in my 2ch Dual Rectifier...I preferred the TAD by far..a sweeter tone overall to me...less harsh in the highs.

They were both from the tubestore an supposedly both selected to be equivalent in bias.

Cool . Thanks for the reply. Which ones did you use ? The L6LGC-STR (RCA style) or the 6L6WGC-STR (GE Style) ?

Also, how do you get the right rating (current/voltage) form the seller on the tubes for Boogie amps . I mean the Boogie amps have a fixed Bias so only tubes of a certain rating will work optimally in those amps.

I don't know what to ask for when buying.

Tell them the amp you are buying for and they should be able to select a pair or quad in the right bias range for the DR. dougstubes does this as does thetubestore. Check it out here:
