Can a short chassis maverick (see photos here: http://s45.photobucket.com/albums/f61/deidelberg/Mesa%20Maverick/) with sus4 mounting in a 1x12 cab be moved to a Mk. 1 reissue cab that doesn't have the sus4 mounting?

Short chassis should be the same size and bolt locations regardless of what head it is provided it is still the same chassis. The exception being the older Mk series screw locations are slightly different by about an 1/8 of an inch. In your case you should be fine.

HEre's the reissue Mk. 1 case I would put the Maverick into for gigging:

$325 shipped a reasonable price for the empty case (reverb tank and bag inside) and a nice road case?

I saw that combo cab on craigslist. It is pretty nice. I like your original cab better though. I would stick with it unless you are gigging with it. Actually that wicker might look pretty slick in the white tolex though. It should fit.

I have swapped my short chassis MarkIV in and out of the sus4 combo to the head that is not obviously back and forth a few times. Like I said as long as they are short chassis amps that are not older like earlier than the MarkIII then you should be fine.

Cool. I would only get the new cab to protect the Mav from gigging use. Or to get the road case to take the pretty cab gigging. LOL...

Any thoughts on the price of $325 shipped for the combo cab (no speaker, but the reverb is in there) and the road case? What would a combo cab like this be worth alone?

Thanks.

That is probably reasonable considering you are getting a case too. The white is less common as is the wheat grille. The painted Boogie logo is no longer made. The leather corners are a nice touch too. The speaker not being in there will definitely save you some on the shipping and will keep your speaker from getting damaged anyway. Shipping companies have a funny way of dropping things. The combo cabinet alone without anything in it from Mesa would be about what you are paying. Here you are getting the reverb tank, the tank bag, and cables, plus a road case shipped to your door. I would pick it up if I were you and wanted to have a nice alternative to ruining your nice wood cabinet. It appears that someone had mounted the EVM in there at one point. I would probably install some T-nuts if I were you so that you don't ever have to worry about your speaker falling out. Vibration will eventually be your enemy and the speaker will need to be remounted in the cab with new holes if you don't use the T-nuts.

Ok, notice the difference between the back side rails of the cabinet in comparison to your current wood cabinet. Note that the rails go completely down the sides and that there are no semi circle cut outs in the edges of the cabinet on the back. This cabinet was never prepped for a MarkIV. This doesn't mean that you can't put one in there though. Your Mav should be fine in there. My original head cabinet was a MarkIII cabinet. I couldn't mount my MarkIV FU-3 footswitch because it wasn't prepped for it. I was going to prep it and install the clips but never got around to it and sold it. I just bought a different (newer) headshell and was over it. I like the newer tolex anyway. I do have to install the clips in the combo I have though. Apparently, Mesa wasn't using the same quick release clips originally. The old ones were threaded as opposed to the newer style? If I ever get around to it I might install them. Right now I am liking the head configuration better so I probably won't for now. The short combo with an EVM is quite heavy.
