Hi,

I'm trying to set up my Studio Pre with my TC-Electronics G-System and have three options :-

1) Use the normal "main outs" for feeding the pre-amp signal back to my pedal board - Results way too hot, clipping etc.
2) Use the "recording out" which according to the manual are "buffered" - Better but lacking in dynamics
3) Use the Effects loops send - but what level do I use ?

The Switch says "Low" or "Line" is this the same as -10db or +4db on modern amps ?

Any one know what the low and line levels mean ?

Also does anyone know what Valve No.4 does in the Pre Amp ? It's says it's for "Main Outs" but does it do any tone shaping ?

Cheers,

Hey,

the "low" level is for foot pedals and stomp boxes, whereas the "line" level is for studio quality units. V4 is the main output before it goes to the power amp. yes I'm sure the tube you have there will affect the tone/gain, but I don't think there is a knob like V1 to control the level, unless its the master vol that controls V4.

heres the manual if you don't have it already
