Is Strategy 400 an amp I can use for home audio?

If so, how can I (or perhaps someone else) make it sound better for this kind of use? Some other tubes, modification etc.

The maby more preferable Baron audio amp is a bit hard to find here in Sweden but can I get a Strategy 400 for $500. Maby it's a nice price...

All kinds of information about this amp, especially for audio-use, are welcome.

Hi again...

Now I have this Strategy 400 and I've ordered some 6L6GC tubes to replace the EL34:s. What more, mods etc, can I do to make it sound the best for hi-fi?

You don't need mods to it, it will sound great as-is. Plus, the Strategy 400 has the best volume taper of any power amp I've ever used. That thing scales smooth as silk, so you actually have useful moderate volumes available - despite it's wattage. It can get loud (obviously), but you can tweak it for low volumes better than you can lower wattage versions like the 50/50.

I'm sitting here with the new tubes on my desk. Gonna change them now and I'm soo curious... Cross your fingers for me!
