Hey guys,
I've got a Fender Koa Strat with 3 Seymour Duncan single coils. I love the guitar, but hate the single coil in the bridge. I'm going to replace it with a humbucker that fits in a single coil slot and I've been thinking about getting a Seymour Duncan Hot Rails setup.

I play mostly hard rock and metal. What are your takes on this pickup, or what would you recommend instead of it? Obviously, I can't just try out different pups in my guitar, so any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I know you say you don't like the single coil in the bridge, but try a strat with the Simarium Cobalt Noiseless pickups in it. I just installed these in my old stratocaster that now belongs to a buddy of mine on this forum, and it gave that guitar a TON of output and made it sound AWESOME. I would not hesitate to put these in a strat when i get another one on down the road. I had it tuned to dropped C playing some killswitch on it through my Triple Rec with ease. It sounded wicked.

BTW Steve (Steve'smusiccenter) is amazing... I live in Canada and I buy everything possible through him. The BEST online service I've ever had. PERIOD!

Personally, I'd go Dimarzio or Suhr for the bridge though...

Dave Murray of IFM is using the Hot Rails, sounds like it's working for him :D I'm thinking of doing the same thing in my Custom Shop Strat, either that or the HS-3 / YJM / YJM setup.

I've been toying with the idea of putting a Seymour Duncan JB Jr in one of my strats, might be worth looking into...
