Hi Guys,

I've got a strange distortion happening on my DC-2. It nearly sounds like a detuned octaver and happens only on the clean channel.
I've had a guy look at it, and since it's intermittent he could only replicate it once.
He's checked tubes, soldiered tube connectors, cleaned pots and wired up the reverb properly as he said the connectors were getting old.
He says it may be the relays in the channel switching - I've just started using my misplaced footswitch lately, if that has anything to do with it.

Here's a video of the problem:

Any help would be greatly appreciated as he's the only amp guy in town.

Cheers,
Jason

I've found and an intermediary fix - if I switch the power button off and on fast, the problem goes away.
Also forgot to note that I have an upstep transformer from 110v>240v.

Another reason for the service was to get a cleaner sound - so have replaced the preamp tubes - as I'm fairly sure they were the original tubes.

Can any other DC-2 owners testify to how 'clean' these amps are?
To my ears it sounds like there is clipping distortion inherent on both channels.

Cheers,
Jason.
