Calling all of you who stack your Stiletto Ace Combos on top of your 1x12 closed back Mesa extension cabs.

I've always been a bit worried that the weight of the combo amp is too much for the matching Mesa closed back extension cab. I always set mine side-by-side but would love to stack them just for appearances sake if anything. Is this perfectly cool to do or are you concerned about the weight issue as well? The guy at Mesa says it's perfectly okay. Do you agree?

I never thought of the weight so much, but I've wondered about finding a 2x12 cab that's big enough for my Ace 1x12 not to tip over! I'm still between a Genz Benz G-Flex and an Avatar "contemporary" style 2x12 cab. I think any quality cab could handle the weight of the Ace.

Wish Mesa would make an extention cab for the Ace. I'm going to pick up a 1x12 and would love to have a 1x12 extention cabinet to go along with it.

Do you really think that Mesa is going to build a bottom cab that can't support the weight of the combo that's meant to sit on top of it?

To put it into perspective....

I'm pretty sure Mesa's cab quality is at least equal, if not superior to that of Orange... and this Orange cab seems to be able to support 170lbs of cab and amp on top of it. I don't think your Ace weighs quite that much....

Sweet rig and I like your '56.
Thanks for the input.

I have the Ace 2x12 combo. I bought a rectifier 2x12 for extension cab and it always is supporting the weight of the ace and my orange rockerverb head too. Its perfectly fine, thats what they're designed for.
Cheers
