Spongy Mode

yep i love my overdrive sound set to spongy on my triple. as mentioned above its not as harsh in the upper freq. i usually use spongy/tube rec. but when i need that extra power boost spongy/ss. although bold/ss is great for clean but sounds good either way. gotta love the dual rec option!!

the "brown sound" was made popular by mr edward van halen. he would use a variac to lower the voltage to his marshall to 90 volts from what ive read.

so it prolongs tube life and sounds great...

I love both the bold and spongy modes on my stiletto.... i think they both have their uses. Usually use the spongy with the crunch modes and bold with the fluid drive mode.
