hi guys. just wondering what speaker cables you use to connect your roadking2 too your roadking cab. i have a roadking2 head and a roadking 4/12 cab.. i use two planet waves 14 ga. speaker cables and i have two yorkville 18 ga. speaker cables. does it matter if they are 14ga. or 18ga. .are there any better cables to use than the ones i have.. thanks for your time and insight on this matter. cal.

How long are your speaker cables? If there only 3 foot or so I wouldn't get hung up on high $$ cables. With that said, don't use cheapies either, as poor quality connectors can fail and leave you with no speaker load which is very bad for the amp.
With speaker cables, thicker (smaller ga # ) is usually better. 14 ga is fine, 18 ga seems a little thin for a 100+ watt amp. Planet Waves is a good cable. I have a 3 foot Monster that I've had for years that is very well made. I also have some CBI cables that I put Neutrik ends on that I use for my MKV rig.
For cables 3-6 feet long 16-14 ga is fine. 6-15 feet I would use 14 -12 ga. Any longer and I would use 12 ga.
