Thought someone hear would want to check this out. Hope someone enjoys it. It's hard to record with a one year old screaming and running around, but this eventually got finished. Sometime in the future (when I get time) I'll try to record something more complex. Enjoy!

**** dude. Why has no one commented on this? Pretty sweet clip man. Good to know that this amp can get a good round solo tone. Hopefully the EL84's in the 5:25 will make it rounder. Plus, the added distortion is always a plus for black metal. Thanks for the great clip. You sound like a pretty **** good musician. Some things in your little song I would have changed maybe. Sound like you've got some decent recording experience too. Anyway, thanks for the clip. Also, what mic were you using for this? I was thinking about a Senn E609.

My favorite part has gotta be 0:24 - 0:48. Again. Really great sounding stuff. Sorry that this amp is so underrated that no one comes to this particular forum.

Nice work. Very inspirational to hear what possible with that amp. Your recording is one of the better ones I have heard, thanks for sharing.

yeah - nice job Captain
we all know what a great job the 5:50 does on clean tones but its high gain is also underrated IMHO.
I got similar high gain tones to you in the solo on my version of "Have a Cigar".
Go to Track 16 on my Soundclick site (link below). Have a listen to the end solo

Thanks alot for the encouragement guys. Ya, this amp can really sound much better then you would think. I had a Fender Squire and the burn channel sounded like an overdrive. After getting the Schecter with the JB7s, it made a tenfold difference.

The mic is used was actually a $30 Logitech (I think, I'm not home right now) omnidirectional wedge mic. A piece of junk! The fact is used a piece of junk really makes this amp sound good in the sense that most of the tones I ended up getting were actually really nice. Hurray for Mesa.

You may be able to tell that pretty much every guitar track sounds different. That's because I only get to record in small chunks since I have a 1 year old. She always yells to so getting a non-yelling track can be difficult lol. Every track or so had different mic placement. Just random too; I didn't have time to test the placement to the degree I should/wanted to.

I use Cakewalk Home Studio 2004.The clean sound were very hard to get to sound good because the software compressor is really bad. Pretty much useless. I don't have a hardware compressor so I'll definitely be looking into getting one when I have the $.

I use an Hp Pavillion 6100 laptop. Crap sound card as well.

I'm looking into a Maxon Od-9 + Pro soon. I'll hopefully have sometime to myself in the next while to get some recording done.

Thanks alot guys!

Well I guess it just goes to show that it's not necessarily the equipment you use in a recording, but how you use it. Yeah each track sounds different but they're all different in a good way. This makes me even more excited to get the 5:25 just because of how much better I'll be able to get it to sound in person.

AWESOME TONES!!

I too had a strat playing thru the Burn mode and it did sound like OD....until I bought an SG STD!

So wet and heavy the distortion is now!!

Great, pleasing to the ears! Sounds alot like John Petrucci's lead guitar tone if you ask me (isn't such a shocker)..
