Here's a rough cut of something I worked out this afternoon with my Nocaster and the C+ on the clean/rhythm channel. this is a straight up recording without any EQ or anything. close mic'ed 2x12 recto cab w/ an SM57 and a 5 string bass direct in.

let me know what you think?

And there's a crowd of young boys foolin' around in the cornah,
drunk and dressed in their best brown baggies and their platform soles,
they don't give a damn, 'bout any trumpet playin' band,
it ain't what they call, rock and roll

Sounds great man, very lush and bouncey clean tones with just the right amount of low end warmth and sparkle. Very suitable for this song. I bet your strings have great feel when you play this tone.

I like 8)

Thanks!

It sounds a lot better in person, I'm having trouble replicating how good the amp sounds with just one mic, going to have to pick up a condenser mic soon I think. You can barely hear the reverb at all with the current setup.

The guitar itself is like a rubber band, it's so fun to play. I have the EQ out in this mix on the amp as well because it jangles a bit more with the tele.

Cool man, I know the rubber band feeling. It's funny how much the tone affects how the guitar feels. When I play my MKIV on the lead channel, the strings feel like huge cables of steel, and it feels like I'm swimming through liquid cement when I pick through them. On my RoadKing, on the Tweed setting, the strings feel like soft rubber bands and the channel reacts extremely well to dynamics and finger movements. Fun stuff

I just picked up an Apex 460 condenser for a hell of a deal ($160) the other day, it's a great little mic. The power box has a 9-way knob on it for omni-directional, cardioid, bi polar, and everything in between all three. It sounds phenomenal for how much it cost me. There's a certain air and openness that only condensers can reveal.
