Look at T-Rex Comp Nova, MI Audio Compressor, CMATMODS Deluxe Compressor, Homebrew CPR, Empress Compressor.

I have the T-Rex, CMATMODS (old brown one with 3 dials) and the Homebrew CPR. I like the T-Rex and Homebrew CPR (with Attack dial) alot more than the CMATMODS. Read reviews.

If I had to get a new one, I'd research the MI Audio and the Empress.

Tube Screamers have a very distinct sound that puts a lot of midrange color in your tone. To me they sound boxy and lifeless. Compressors also seem to suck the life out of a tone.
If you like the tone you have, and just need a volume jump, get a clean boost in the loop (BBE makes one call Boosta Grandé if my memory serves me correctly.)
Me personally, I use a Boss blues driver in the loop.(Keeley modded) it is very transparent and you have gain and EQ control that you wouldn't have with just a boost.

So.... now I'm screwed... compressors, EQs, ODs...

...must try everything...

EDIT: Just an idea. I've read claims that: "jumper the send to the return, and turn up the return level" so when engaging loop via footswitch, they'll get the volume boost. So what is it? What is that "jumper?" Is it possible on mine amp?

To answer your original question: EQ in the loop. That's all.

Jumper is simply "to bridge" something from one place to another; create a bridge from point A to point B. In this case, the send and return need to be bridged together. Use a normal guitar or patch cable. Insert one end of cable into 'send', insert the other end into 'return'. If your amp has a level control for Send and/or Return, adjust these for normal rhythm volume and solo volume by disengaging / enganging the loop via the footswitch. You will get a volume boost but it does not mean you will cut through very well (you are not EQing the amp differently, just making it louder).

It does not work! *********! :))

Just sitting here and trying hard, but I cannot reach the volume difference between loop engaged and loop off. What's the matter?

When moving with MIX LEVEL and SEND LEVEL I can hear the sound difference and it gets louder and clearer or muddier and silent but it is still same no matter if loop on or off.

That's not going to work as the send level is before the relay that switches in/out the loop.

If all you need is a volume boost just stick a good quality clean boost or EQ in the loop and be done with it.

The MXR M108 10-band EQ is perfect for this as it has an Input Gain control and Output Level control.

IMHO every guitarist should own a good quality EQ pedal.

I've never used it but I've heard good things about the BBE Boosta Grande as a clean boost.

Thanx for informations.

I just tried EHX LBP-1 and it looks like it could do the work. On bedroom volume level it seems OK but I'm very worried about my band volume level - I would bet it is gonna cause some uncontrollable feedback. I've also read this article about loops on Triples and I'm curious why this guy advices to let loop ON even if not used?

What benefit does have setting volume by MASTER LOOP VOLUME and CHANNEL VOLUME at same time?

I also noticed that my Recto produces different sound color when is LOOP ENGAGED (no matter if empty or with effect) - the sound sounds (lol) brighter to me when LOOP is ON with MIX and SEND levels on the 12'o'clock - at least I hear it like that. Is it standard?
