Nermel, I take the use of Fanboys by John to refer to some of the people that have the mindset that mesa can do no wrong and hence opinions might be a bit on the biased side.

I guarantee you that in a year or 2 tops the price of any used IV will be more than a V.

I doubt it. There are far too many IVs in the world. There'd never be that type of demand.

A cursory look at completed listings on Ebay suggests otherwise but time will tell.

I purchased a Mark IIC+, and a Mark IV last week - just to compare it to the Mark V. The Mark V's Mark IIC+ setting IS the Mark IIC+ sound - and more! No doubt about it. Being able to run simul-class, half-power, and TRUE SE Class A @ 10 watts is out of control! Not mention the "Variac" power-scaling option just makes me want to "cream" all over the front of my amp!!! :shock: Did I say that? Yes - I did!
I just got through a 2 hour A/B test fest between my Guytron GT100 "MK IIC+ Killer", and my Mark V. This is the first Mesa that I've played that I'd call worthy of sitting next to the the mighty GT100. Granted, I needed to install a quad of Siemens EL34's in the MKV to smooth the overall sound of the MKV. The people who are talking trash are most likely the people who can't afford the MKV - and so they resort negative commentary in an attempt to convey that which is pointless. If you've never played - or don't own a MKV... Well - I think you get my point?
I'll go toe to toe with any Mark IV amplifier out there. The Guytron alone will stomp the piss out of any Mark series amp ever made! Except maybe the Mark V... :wink:

I only put a little bit of faith into other people's opinions. That is why I chose not to buy the MkV blindly, as I did back in 1995 when I bought a new 2-channel Triple Rec. Those opinions also include the manufacturer (MESA). I believe the pre-orders are mostly to blame for these early re-sales of the MkV.

The lack of a good quality demo from M/B of the V also contributed to early resales imo.

I got the Mesa IIC+ & IV three weeks ago. The MKV combo was purchased two weeks ago. All of the MESA's were sold last week. The MKV arrived last Thursday. As far as A/B testing the IIC+, and IV against a Guytron GT100... There's no point in it. The GT100 (X-Modded) is a superior sounding amp in every way. Pretty simple math if you ask me... :roll
The MKV does have it's own sound, regardless of what's stamped on the faceplate!

That would make sense. hype of a new mark and people getting carried away with it then realizing it isn't for them once they get it. yeah I can easily see that. quick turn arounds then should drop off after a while

He has the V...it's the IIC+ and IV he is full of **** about. He did a vid clip of the V and crapotron
and seeing him and guessing by his personality here..if he did indeed have the other 2 he would have video
taped those as well and posted them.
