So many used Deuce Stage 1's available but no Stage 2's

eBay always has Stage 1's and various guitar forums have them as well. Hard to find used Stage 2's. Tonally, what would I be losing by getting a Stage 1?

The Stage I vs Stage II thing has been covered a bunch of times I'd just do a search on the forum. Believe me, you'll find more opinions then you could ever want.

For what it's worth there are plenty of happy Stage I owners out there.

It's hard to explain the tonal differences, but I would honestly get a Stage II if I had it as an option. I've owned a Stage I...had the Stage I Hollywood Modded, then owned a Stage II (ACE). The ACE was my favorite of the lot, though you can't go wrong with any of them.

After all the ones I've tried, I'm actually partial to the ACE. The 50W was more than plenty (never had headroom issues), and it always cut through the mix so easily, even in comparison to the Stage I Hollywood Mod. Those 50W-ers really cut and bite.

I forgot we talked about that! That one was literally flawless. Looked and played like it just came straight from the factory. It just shipped out this week, actually.

And you're right...you don't see many Stage II heads floating around used.

That custom blonde head on eBay doesn't have the roman numeral "II" above the input jacks. How do we know it's a II?

I think its a stage II for two reasons . It has a green jewel light and i have a stage II and this one has a higher serial number so it was obviously made after mine .

They've been out for 15 months now so you'll start seeing them in the used market. Patience pays.
